St Nicks Cycling, performed well as a team to give our team leader, Shayne O'Donnell, a chance at the win today. Well done to Shayne to win the sprint for second.
James Hull first; Shayne O'Donnell second
Early on the stage, five optimistic riders attacked on the first climbs of Deta - Resita. They managed to keep a gap between them and the peloton until they reached the final climb. At the bottom of the climb, the group of favourites passed them. Rider by rider, they couldn't keep up with the tempo set by St Nicks, who were supporting Shayne O'Donnell. Right behind the riders of St Nicks was James Hull and Donato Veloso lurking. Shayne O'Donnell looked strong, and seemed to have a good day, but when Donato Veloso launched an attack, only James Hull could follow. James Hull made a counter-attack and was suddenly alone in the front, as Shayne O'Donnell caught up Donato Veloso once again. James Hull secured his victory without problems, while Shayne O'Donnell was faster in the sprint than Donato Veloso.
